Hey! So in a vain attempt to blog about the ins and outs of my life, I'm going to give this one more shot and see where it goes. Hopefully it will keep me on track with some of my thoughts and allow me to vent at the same time.
First let's start with my name, simple enough, right? Ok, so my name is Shannon. Most people call me Shan. My kiddos call me mom. At the present point in time I'm on a 2 week break from school....Yay! I'm going to school for criminal justice (yeah loads of fun, I know). I live in a small town about 2.5 hours from Chicago. Actually some of you may have heard of it, it's called Streator. It's small but not really, if that makes any sense at all.
I'm a mother first, a wife second, and whatever else you want to call me third. I feel the purpose of this blog is while it's to let me vent about day to day stuff, it's also about fun stuff like recipes, makeup (well maybe a little bit of makeup. I'm not nearly as talented as some of the bloggers I've been reading about.), kids, and whatever else pops into this cluttered mess I like to call my brain.
On to the kiddos. My boys range in age from 14, to 9 (all think they're trapped in the mind of a 34 yr old, but what can ya do?) Ian (the oldest), Alex (the middle) and Andrew (the baby). I also have 2 stepsons...Matthew (18) and Jacob (16). Matthew and Ian just graduated. Ian from 8th grade into high school, and Matthew from high school into what is now known as the "real world"....poor kid, he's not gonna know what hit him. I'm kidding, I'm kidding. He's a good kid with a good head on his shoulders (which I'm sure comes from his dad).
I love to bake but I'm not all that good at it, I don't think anyway. But the cook is her own worst critic, right? Right now I'm in the middle of making dinner. It's elbow macaroni and dumplings in chicken stock (i guess???) I've thrown in some spices and whatnot so it's really good, and really simple. And the kids will eat it. Lord, are they picky.
So anyways, off to the kitchen I go. More posts to come, and hopefully I don't slack off :) Adios!
